Brow Lifting - The Beginners Guide

What You Will Learn!

  • How to perform a Brow Lift on clients own natural eyebrows, giving them a fuller, bolder appearance.

Description

Brow lifting was designed to give the illusion of fuller, more defined eyebrows. Where it differs from microblading or shading, in that no pigment is added to your brows (though you can opt for an additional tint or henna application).

Instead your hairs are coaxed into place to look fluffier and more defined, and have a slicked-up, shiny look.  It's great for that feathery, model look that was previously possible only with genetics.

Here are a few FAQ'S to help you understand the course even further:

How long does the procedure take?

Depending on the length and health of the clients natural hair, the procedure takes approximately 45-60 minutes and lasts up to 4-6 weeks.

Who is a good candidate for keratin brow lifting?

Anyone who wants to enhance the look of their natural brows and who does not have any contraindications to the treatment. It is however not recommended for chemotherapy patients.

What is the application process?

The process is relaxing in nature. After the client lies down on the table they relax with their eyes closed. Many clients fall asleep during the procedure. The brow hair are adhered in upward styled position before applying any product.

The specialist will apply 3 different phases. Depending on the thickness of your brow hair and how well your hair holds a curl, the lifting solution will develop on the brows for approximately 10 to 16 minutes. The solution is then removed and the neutralising lotion is applied for the same amount of time. Finally a nourishing oil is applied to the brow hairs. The entire process takes about 45-60 minutes.

Can brow lifting be used to compliment other treatments?

Yes, brow tinting can also be applied during the treatment to enhance the look of your brow lift. Blonde or light brown brow hair would benefit greatly from the tint. Henna may only be applied 24 hours after any lifting as the products do not react well. Tint is a special type of dye applied to the natural hair to give it a darker colour. These are applied after your lamination in order to preserve the results of the lamination.
